Abstract


EVALUATION OF ARTICLES ON TURKISH EDUCATION PUBLISHED IN THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF TURKISH LITERATURE CULTURE EDUCATION (TLCE) BETWEEN 2012 AND 2021 IN TERMS OF VARIOUS ELEMENTS

The needs of individuals and society are increasingly changing depending on the rapid progress of science, technology, and interaction. Meeting the needs that arise with the rapid progress of science and technology brings innovation and changes. These innovations and changes will inevitably reflect on education and teaching. It is necessary to make changes in Turkish education, which is given in our schools within the scope of mother tongue education, as the main field of educational sciences. Scientific studies are carried out to present the changes and novelties in the field of Turkish education. These studies aim to contribute to education programs and to enable meet the needs of educators in the field. In this study, the articles, published in the field of Turkish education in the International Journal of Turkish Literature Culture Education (TLCE) between 2012 and 2021, were evaluated in terms of various factors. These articles were scanned through the International TLCE Journal database and articles written in Turkish were selected. The study was conducted with the document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods. A total of 85 articles published in the field of Turkish education between 2012-2021 in the International TLCE Journal were included in the scope of the research, and scientific evaluations were made. As a result of these evaluations, it was concluded that the articles on Turkish education in the International TLCE Journal between the years 2012-2021 were mostly written by one or two authors, were made according to the qualitative research method, and were aimed at reading and writing skills. The number of publications in the relevant years on listening and speaking skills was found to be lower when compared with studies on reading and writing skills. Researchers may weigh on studies that investigate listening and speaking skills. The scarcity of articles published on teacher development within the scope of the subject area has attracted attention. Researchers' studies on teacher development will contribute to identifying the needs of educators working in the field.
