Mankind has learned to put names first and then to give meanings to the names they put. The starting point of this study is to understand how the naming of the settlements in Anatolia is made. Anatolia is one of the places chosen as a settlement in history due to its socio-economic structure and geographical richness. Based on this information, it is aimed to compile the legends and legend myths, which are the products of oral culture, about giving the names of provinces in our country. This study was carried out with the scanning model, which is one of the descriptive research methods. Literary, historical, and scientific works related to the subject were examined and the myths of the place names in our country were compiled. As a result of this study, the richness of Anatolian culture is tried to be revealed once again.
